Preserve context, not just audio
When possible, preserve scans or photos of cassette cards and handwritten notes. Those artifacts frequently contain dates, venue references, and performer details missing from the recording itself.
A careful digital archive combines media files with basic metadata so the collection remains useful beyond immediate listening.
